The Founder’s Journey: A Childhood in the Wetlands
For me, the story of Dr Fox Nut didn’t start in an office or a factory; it started in the muddy ponds of my village during my childhood holidays.I remember the excitement of traveling back to my roots in Mithila, Bihar. Everywhere I looked, the landscape was dominated by serene, leaf-covered ponds. While other kids had city parks, my playground was surrounded by the life cycle of the Mithila Makhana. I watched the local farmers knee-deep in water, painstakingly harvesting these floating seeds—a labor of love that has defined our region for centuries.The smell of fresh roasting makhana in the village air is a memory I carry with me to this day. Those holidays taught me that this “Black Diamond” wasn’t just a snack; it was the heartbeat of our community.
From Memory to Mission
As I grew up, I realized that the world was missing out on the authentic, high-quality makhana I grew up eating. Most people only knew the mass-produced, bland versions. I founded Dr Fox Nut to bring that childhood freshness and the true spirit of Mithila to your home.In 2022, this legacy was officially recognized with a Geographical Indication (GI Tag), certifying that the makhana from my village is unlike any other in the world.
